Furniture Packaging: Bubble Covers and EPE Foam That Survive Transit

Furniture fails in packing as scuffs, corner crush, and fabric dirt — not only as “broken in transit.” A sofa wrapped in random bubble from a jumbo roll looks protected and still arrives with a dented arm. A cover cut and sealed to the part goes on in seconds and covers the same faces every time. Wrap-from-roll is flexible for one-offs and bulky irregular frames. Most factories use covers for runners and roll wrap for exceptions.

Foam on the points that hit the carton

Legs, glass tops, and MDF corners need EPE, not only air bubbles. Thickness is quoted in millimetres against the drop you actually see in the 3PL, not against a catalogue “heavy duty” label.

Pallet the load

Knock-down cartons still shift. Stretch film keeps a stack as one unit through Peenya to a national DC or a UAE warehouse. Tape the cartons first; stretch is not a substitute for a sealed box.

Export furniture
